Miramar: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Friday paid tributes to former Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar at his memorial at Miramar beach on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Sawant, accompanied by State Water Resources Department Minister Subhash Shirodkar, State Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira, and family members of Parrikar, including his son Utpal and Abhijat, paid tributes to the late Parrikar.
“Late Parrikar played a major role in the infrastructure development of the state. He laid the foundation for the state’s development in an inclusive manner,” Sawant told reporters after paying floral tribute to the leader.
The Chief Minister said that his government has been carrying forward the developmental vision initiated by late Parrikar. “We have completed almost all the developmental projects envisioned by him during his tenure as Chief Minister,” he said.
Sawant added that the new infrastructure developmental projects undertaken by his government are inspired by the vision of late Parrikar.
