Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday kept back one out of two escort vehicles to smoothen the traffic after a leading road connecting Panaji to North Goa was blocked due to accident.
The incident happened around 9.30 a.m. on Thursday when the chief minister who was traveling from his home in Sankhalim village in North Goa to Panaji was caught in a traffic jam, his office said.
The accident was involving a huge truck trolley near Old Goa due to which the entire road was blocked leaving office-goers stranded.
“The chief minister asked the personnel from his escort vehicle to help the Traffic police clear the road block and also left behind one of his vehicle with the instructions not to leave the place till the vehicle movement is smoothened,” his office said.
The congestion was eased after almost half an hour following which the escort vehicle joined the chief minister’s entourage in Panaji.
