Panaji: Our Health Department, Directorate of Health Services and Goa Medical College is working tirelessly to keep our health strong. We got the glimpses of this during covid time. Goa is the only State where the treatment of Covid-19 patients in private hospitals was borne by the Government under Deen Dayal Swasthya Suraksha Yojana said Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.
He was speaking at the function held to lay the foundation stone of Primary Health Center at Betki. Minister for Public Health Shri. Vishwajit Rane, Minister for Art and Culture Shri. Govind Gaude, Director of Health Services, Dr Jose D’sa, Zilla Panchayat members Somesh Bhosle, Siddhesh Naik, village Panchayat members of Betki and Neighbouring areas and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister informed that the building will be completed in 18 months period of time.
Chief Minister also briefed on the telemedicine and outreach program which will be soon started in the State. He also threw light on the covid management and Swayampurna Goa Campaign.
Minister for Health, Shri Rane said that the government has done a lot of work for the people of Goa under the leadership of the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and is trying to bring the best infrastructures, technology, innovations in the field of health to Goa. Goa is the only State in the entire country to provide free treatment to covid-19 patients, he added.
Minister for Art and Culture, Shri Gaude said it was my dream to upgrade the centre and give necessary facilities to the people. Accessibility, appropriate skills, technology and Mutual cooperation should be fundamental principles of any health centre. Health centre should have condusive environment for patients and to the medical staff, he pointed.
The new premises will contain all the facilities including casualty, OT facilities, Gynaec Department , Diagnostic Department, Pharmacy facilities, OPD Department, Ambulance facility, cafeteria etc.
