Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai hit back at the Chief Ministers remarks calling the Fatorda MLA ‘Bekar’ after Sardesai raised questions pertaining to Goa’s management of COVID-19.

In a video address Sardesai said that “the Chief Minister seems to be very frustrated that his mismanagement has been completely exposed by the national and international media.” Vijai pointed out that the CM’s choice of words expose “the culture in which he operates” saying “this only shows his attitude and approach to democratic principles and collaboration from opposition MLAs in the keeping Goa health a priority.”

The GFP chief highlighted that he had earlier recommended numerous suggestions to get Goa on the right track in terms of fighting COVID-19. Sardesai said “the government is adopting all our recommendation in a delayed timeline from a COVID-19 taskforce, and global tender of vaccines.” He added that “ultimately, the CM is taking suggestions from a Bekar MLA, does he accept that?”

Sardesai said that “time and again the CM is proving me right, I have said that he is an anti-Goan CM that only ways in the disinterest of Goa. Today his remarks have proved me right again, that for Pramod Sawant, there is no room to help Goans because he simply not interested in answering the simple questions.”

Vijai Sardesai slammed the CM’s lack of management and “sense of responsibility” saying “the CM has been busy counting iron ore trips, while he has completely neglected the health and safety of Goans suffering from the second wave of infections.” Vijai stated that “even members of his own government are raising eyebrows saying that there is no management of the pandemic in the state, and all the work is left up to the IAS lobby or super CM.”
