Panaji: The traffic congestion at the Chimbel junction on the Old Goa By-Pass will soon be a thing of the past with the commissioning of the flyover bridge by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday.
St. Cruz MLA Rudolf Fernandes and CCP Mayor Rohit Monserratte were also present at the inauguration.
Interestingly, within minutes of the road being opened, even before the formal function could begin, an ambulance coming from Old Goa and heading towards Bambolim became the first vehicle to use the flyover.
The flyover has been completed just in time for the exposition of the Relics of St. Francis Xavier at Old Goa.
