CM Congratulated Crime Branch for Biggest Drug Seizure

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant congratulated the Crime Branch for their commendable efforts and swift action.

On Tuesday, the Goa Crime Branch arrested three persons, including a husband-wife duo, resulting in the seizure of drugs worth Rs 43 crore — the biggest haul of narcotics in the coastal state.

Sawant wrote on his X handle: “Kudos to the @Goa_Police and the Crime Branch for their commendable efforts and swift action in the biggest ever drug bust in the State.”

“Based on specific intelligence, the Crime Branch team successfully apprehended three individuals found in possession of narcotic substances with an estimated value of Rs 43.2 crore,” he said.

The Chief Minister added that the arrests were made at the Crime Branch office in Ribandar, Goa, following effective technical surveillance and precise operational execution.

“This operation reflects the Government’s commitment, sharp vigilance, and professional excellence of our law enforcement agencies in their ongoing battle against drug trafficking,” he said.
