Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday assured transparency in the state government recruitment process, appealing to aspirants to desist from falling prey to conmen.
There will be a few conmen who would assure government jobs at a cost. However, he assured that the entire recruitment process in the government system is conducted through the Staff Selection Commission, which has adopted a transparent process. Sawant was speaking during the distribution of 85 offer letters for government service to various youths.
His statement comes against the backdrop of recent instances of cash-for-job scams across the state.
The Chief Minister said that all 85 youths have successfully cleared the Computer Based Tests conducted by the Staff Selection Commission.
Sawant said that only qualified and eligible candidates are selected for government services due to the stringent processes adopted by the Staff Selection Commission.
He said that even before a candidate leaves the examination hall of the Staff Selection Commission, the candidate comes to know the marks scored, as the tests are computer-based.
The Chief Minister said that this leaves no scope for any kind of confusion or favouritism.
Sawant appealed to the newly appointed government officers to ensure that they contribute to good governance and administration of the state, without indulging in any petty benefits.
