Panaji: A day after electricity department disconnected power supply of Panaji municipal market over non-payment dues, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant asked to restore it at the earliest.
Sawant has asked Power Minister to restore the power supply to the market at the earliest.
He has also asked CCP to pay the dues of Rs five crore.
Electricity department on Tuesday disconnected power supply of the market over non-payment of Rs five crore dues by CCP.
Sawant said that he has spoken to Power Minister to restore the electricity supply at the earliest. “I have also asked CCP to make the necessary payments,” he said.
Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate said that Corporation will make request to government to waive off the interest which is Rs 2.5 crore. “We have asked Power Minister to give us some time to make the payment. CCP will approach government for interest wavier,” he said.
