Panaji: Challenging Shiv Sena of supporting their claim of Kala Academy renovation scam with the documents, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude on Sunday accused Uddhav Thackrey led party of involving into blackmail and extortion.
Shiv Sena Goa President Jitesh Kamat had alleged scam in renovation of Kala Academy building, which is currently underway.
Gaude said that the renovation of Kala Academy building has been taken up with the help of experts in the field to weed out some of the legacy problems like flooding of the auditorium.
He said that the tender was awarded after proper studies which includes the estimate by Public Works Department.
Kala Academy building is currently undergoing Rs 50 crore renovation work.
Gaude challenged Shiv Sena to come out with the documents to support their claim of the scam. He said that if there is any consultant who can do the same work at Rs 10 crore estimate, than he is welcome to put up his proposal before the state government.
“But the quality of the work has to be on par with what is being done now,” the minister said adding that the current consultant has given a guarantee of five years while guarantee of 25 years on other items.
“If there is any issue than they should contact me, I am most accessible MLA and minister,” he said.
“If we have seen the history of Shiv Sena than they have only extorted, blackmailed people,” he added.
