Panaji: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has decided to undertake special survey to assess the municipal properties within its jurisdiction.
The decision was taken during the ordinary meeting of the council held today.
During the meeting, Councilor Rupesh Halankar brought to the notice of the council that there are total 100 municipal quarters, of which nearly 74 quarters are illegally occupied by private players, without any payment to the corporation.
He said that only 22 quarters are actually occupied by the municipal staffers.
“CCP is losing out huge revenue. CAG has pulled us up in its report,” he said.
Assuring action, Mayor Uday Madkaikar announce to call for a Special meeting to discuss and decide on the municipal properties.
“But before that, let us undertake detail drive and identify the properties that belongs to municipality,” he said.
