CCP may run short of manpower following outbreak at St Inez bandh

Panaji: The Corporation of city of Panaji has been finding itself amidst manpower crisis with the staff shrinking every passing day. After the areas of Cambrabhat and Chimbel, where the staff of CCP lives, coming under the radar of coronavirus, the latest in line is St Inez Bandh.

On Friday, St Inez Bandh saw first COVID-19 positive case after which all the 50-odd houses there have been sealed. Another case was also found in CCP’s Panaji fish market.

Mayor Uday Madkaikar said that the intensive testing has began of the people linked to both the spots.

CCP has also asked people living at St Inez bandh not to report to the work.

CCP has already stopped people from Chimbel and Cambrabhat, two of its major places where its staff reside, to stop coming to the work after coronavirus outbreak was reported from there.

Madkaikar admitted that there are likelihood of manpower shortage due to the current situation.

 

VISHWAJIT RANE TWEETS, SWAB TESTING AT PHARMACY COLLEGE

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane tweeted that the swab testing was conducted at Pharmacy college, Panaji following all the health protocols.

“We are here to keep Goa safe and are committed to the welfare of every citizen of the state of Goa by taking all the precautionary measures to fight this war against COVID-19,” Rane tweeted.
