CCP agrees to pay Rs one crore to resume electricity for market complex

Panaji: The Corporation of City of Panaji has agreed to pay Rs one crore to the power department by October 15 as a condition to resume electricity supply to the market complex.

State Power Department has disconnected the power supply of Panaji market after CCP failed to provide whopping dues.

CCP Mayor Uday Madkaikar said that the civic body has agreed to pay Rs one crore to the Power department by October 15 as a first installment towards the repayment of the pending dues.

Madkaikar said that the dues have been pending for last 19 years. He said that the billing also includes the electricity that was consumed by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation while constructing the complex.
