Casinos in Goa to remain shut on October 2

Panaji: Goa government has announced that Casino operations in the state will remain shut on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

 

Department of Home (General) has informed that as a mark of respect and in order to pay homage to the “Father of the Nation”, Mahatma Gandhi, all gaming operations at casinos in the State   will remain closed on October 02, 2025, the state government spokesman said on Tuesday.

 

“All the casino licensees shall stop the operation of the casinos in the State with effect from 12.00 a.m of   October 02, 2025 (that is intervening midnight of  October, 1 and 2  2025) to 12.00 a.m of  October  03, 2025 (that is intervening midnight of October, 2 and 3 2025) for the period of 24 hrs on  October 2, 2025,” he said.

 

Goa has six off shore casinos and others on shore casinos operating in the five-star properties.
