Porvorim: In order to ensure that the tourists do not face the brunt of ongoing strike by tourist taxi, the police personnel from Calangute, Porvorim and Saligao police stations have initiated their field officers to help the guests.
Under the supervision of SP North and also Deputy Superintendent of Police Edwin Colaco, the police personnel were on the field assisting tourists by guiding them when they were stranded due to non-availability of tourist taxis.
Police have also said that they are willing to extend all the assistance to taxi operators who desire to operate taxis.
Dedicated officers are also earmarked at Calangute, Porvorim and Saligao Police Stations to assist tourists. Most officers and personnels are already in the field and some are just a call way.
