In view of the Christmas celebrations this year Calangute Police visited various Old age homes in the jurisdiction and distributed gifts to the senior citizens staying in the homes.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi in the eve of Christmas this year he came up with the idea to visit old age homes and to converse with the senior citizens staying in it.
During the visit to old age homes at Candolim and Calangute police distributed every senior citizen with daily essentials such as bedsheets, towels, soaps, toothbrush etc exchanges their greetings for Christmas and New year. PI Dalvi along with staff spent time with the senior citizens by singing songs and interacting with them. Police visited Provedoria old age home and Arc of Hope Old Age Home located at Candolim.
Further police staff also visited St. Anthony Orphanage at Calangute and distributed sweets along with snacks, and stationary material including books, pen etc to the children. The children welcomed PI Dalvi and staff by singing carols and Christmas songs.
PI Dalvi informed that in order to improve the public police relationship and to generate a sense of safety in the mind of senior citizens staying in Old Age homes and the children in Orphanages this idea of visiting this places was thought and executed.
PI Dalvi also wished all the general public Merry Christmas and Hapoy new Year.
