Cabo-De-Rama Fort was the only heritage proposed by Ministry of Archives and Archeology for ‘Adopt of Heritage’ scheme

Porvorim:  of the total 17 monuments from Goa identified and listed under ‘Adopt of Heritage’ scheme, the State Ministry for Archives and Archaeology had proposed only Cabo-De-Rama Fort for development.

The information was revealed by the Minister Vijai Sardesai during a press briefing today afternoon. Minister admitted that his department had proposed the Cabo De Rama fort, the Mormugao fort, Khorjuvem fort and the rock garden in Sanguem.

However, as per the list, only Cabo De Rama fort is listed.

“Our dept had not proposed any church,” he said.

The other 16 sites were proposed by the tourism department for development. This include Basilica Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, Chapel of St Catherine, Church of St Francis Assisi, Museum of Christian Art, Church of St John of God, Our lady of Rosary, Church of St Augustine Ruins, Church of St Cajetan, Church of St Ann’s, Church of Our lady of Mount, Royal Chapel of St Anthony, Pillar of Flogging, Aguada Fort and Lighthouse, Morjim beach, Chapora Fort.
