Bollywood connection to Vagator rave party revealed

Panaji:  Goa Crime Branch said that the rave party that was busted in state’s North Goa coastal belt on Saturday night was held at the residence of  film actor Kapil Jhaveri, who was also arrested in the raid.

In all 23 people including three foreigner women were arrested by police busting the rave party on Saturday night at a villa in Vagator village.

“Jhaveri and three foreign nationals were arrested under stringent Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, while rest 19 people were arrested for violating rules related to social distancing,” Superintendent of Police Crime Branch Shobhit Saxena said. He said that further arrests would be made depending on the investigation in the case.

Saxena said that Jhaveri has acted in few Hindi films and was currently residing in Goa.

Judicial Magistrate First Class in Panaji on Sunday remanded 40-year-old Jhaveri along with three foreign national women for five days police custody, he said.

The accused has acted in movies including “Dil Pardesi Ho Gaya” and “Ishq Vishk.”

Saxena said that during the raid, drugs like cocaine, MDMA, charas and other chemical substance was recovered from the party venue.
