Panaji: BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Friday held a meeting with the party’s state-level core committee, comprising senior leaders including Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Nabin arrived in Goa on Friday at Manohar International Airport, Mopa, where he was received by CM Sawant, the party’s Goa unit president Damodar Naik, and other office bearers.
The National BJP President later arrived at the party’s headquarters in Panaji, where he was given a warm welcome by the workers.
In his brief address to the workers below the party’s office, Nabin thanked everyone for the welcome. He did not make any elaborate speech and later went to the party’s office to attend the core committee meeting.
Nabin addressed the meeting for over 30 minutes before heading to the Chief Minister’s official residence at Altinho in Panaji city.
The core committee of the party includes ministers and select office bearers, besides Sawant and Naik.
Speaking to reporters, Sawant said that Nabin addressed the core committee members. He welcomed the party chief on his maiden visit to the state.
Sawant said that during the visit, Nabin would address various party-level meetings, including in the South Goa district.
