Panaji: Returning to the State after a gap of three years, BJP’s State General Secretary Satish Dhond got rousing welcome when he arrived at party’s headquarter in Panaji this afternoon.
Dhond will be taking charge of party in Goa, which has been finding itself at receiving end, due to frequent infighting and also illness of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
The party has called for the meeting of Core Committee at the headquarter this afternoon, which would also be attended by Dhond.
“The attempt would be made to rejuvenate the party which has lost its charm these days. The cadres were depressed over the happenings. Dhond has been considered as the one who can revive the party,” a senior BJP leader said.
Former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar who has been critical of the party during recent time was seen smiling as he walked towards the party headquarters.
“I have welcomed him,” Parsekar told the mediapersons.
