Panaji: Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar on Saturday accused Congress of trying to sabotage the security preparedness of the country by trying to put spokes in the Rafale purchase.
The SC on Friday had ordered that there is no inquiry needed in the Rafale deal, the issue which was being raised by Congress in public platforms.
“When SC has clearly exposed the falsehood of congress and it has given clean chit to the deal by staing that no further inquiry is needed. But still congress is persistent with their demand,” Javadekar told reporters in Goa at the sidelines of Goa University’s Convocation Ceremony held on Saturday.
“The only conclusion which can be drawn is that they want stop the deal which will weaken the security preparedness of the country which will never be allowed to happen,” the minister added.
“They (Congress) have already made seven years delay since 2007 when they should have concluded the purchase agreement, they did not,” he said.
“When we have concluded the agreement at government to government level, they are putting spokes into it,” Javadekar said adding “this is nothing but sabotage for our security preparedness.”
“We have already said that Rahul Gandhi owes apology to the nation, to the defence forces and in the Lok Sabha also,” he said.
