The Department of Computer Science of Vidya Vikas Mandal’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao, successfully hosted the seventh edition of BitBuzz — an annual state-level IT Fest exclusively for Higher Secondary students to showcase their talents in competitions with a blend of technology twist. This year’s event saw enthusiastic participation from over 330 participants from 13 Higher Secondary Schools across Goa, reaffirming BitBuzz 7.0 as the premier platform for nurturing young talent in the field of Innovation & Technology. The event was organised by the students of BCA and B.Voc.(ST) programmes at Shree Damodar College.
Esteemed Chief Guest for the Inaugural function, Shri. Mangirish Salelkar, President of the Goa Technology Association and CEO & Co-Founder of the Umang Group, inspired the young generation through his profound experience to prepare themselves for jobs that don’t even exist yet. Fifteen years ago, none of us could have imagined careers like Drone Pilots, YouTubers, App Developers, Social Media Managers, Influencers, Data Scientists, or E-Sports Gamers. Today, these roles are shaping industries and creating opportunities for millions. Tomorrow, entirely new careers will emerge — the ones we can’t even imagine today.
BitBuzz 7.0, held on 12th Sept 2025, was a grand success with a series of competitions designed to test students’ creativity, technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. After intense rounds of events, Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim, emerged as the Winners, while St. Andrew’s Higher Secondary School, Vasco, secured the Runners-Up position at BitBuzz 7.0. All the 13 Teams together put up a commendable effort.
The students & faculties of the Department of Computer Science, under the convenorship of Mr. Amogh S Pai Raiturkar, organised BitBuzz 7.0 with the support and guidance of the Management, Principal and Vice Principals of our College, who played a vital role in ensuring the success of the event. BitBuzz 7.0 once again revived the importance of preparing young learners for the rapidly evolving digital landscape, while motivating them to not only seize opportunities but also create them.
BitBuzz 7.0 stood out as a celebration of innovation, inspiration, and youth talent — reinforcing the need to equip the next generation for the careers of tomorrow.
