Bambolim: The vendors who were shifted from their places to widen the road outside Goa Medical College are facing “tarique pe tarique” phenomenon with the government departments indulging in unexplained delay.
The Public Works Department has already constructed kiosks which are supposed to be handed over to these vendors. But the District Administration officials are dragging their feet to do the formality of allotting them.
Inacio Domnick Pereira, one of the leader of the vendors, has been following up the issue right from the beginning. The vendors had resorted to Goa’s one of the longest protest to get their work done.
Pereira said that he along with the other members met State Reveue Secretary Sandeep Jacques who has promised to call for a joint meeting to finalise this issue.
The delay on the part of district administration is unexplainable as all the formalities are over.
Revenue Minister Babush Moserratte has assured to look in the matter.
