Calangute police have arrested one Mr. Sanika S/o Bandana Bage, R/o Calangute, N/o Jharkhand for greviously injuring a person with a chopper on 08/12/2018.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi the complainant Sajid Kader Faqir, age 29 yrs N/o Kankavali had an quarrel with the accused person over the petty issue of borrowing mobile from the accused.
As the quarrel continued the accused person in a sudden rage picked a new chopper and attacked the complainant due to which he suffered injuries to his head and other body parts.
Further the complainant was shifted to GMC, Bambolim wherein police immediately visited and recorded detailed complaint and registered an FIR under section 326 IPC.
Accordingly police acted swiftly and based on the intelligence teams were formed to trace the accused person.
Accordingly today afternoon the accused person was traced and placed under arrest in the crime.
Police have conducted the scene panchanama and also recovered the blood stained chopper at the instance of accused person.
The accused person is working as a dish washer for a hotel in Calangute.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Ramesh Shirodkar under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi.
