Panaji: BJP Minister Vishwajit Rane has announced that he will not be celebrating his birthday on March 23 as the State is mourning the loss of former CM Manohar Parrikar.
Parrikar passed away on March 17 evening and as such State mourning is declared for seven days.
“We all are deeply saddened by the demise of our late Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. In a time like this, celebrating events is something that none of us wish to do,” Rane tweeted.
“And hence for this reason, I would not be celebrating my birthday this year,” he announced.
Rane has asked his well wishers not to visit his office as there will not be any function.
