Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that Arogya Setu App is not compulsory for the entry into Collectorate offices.
Sawant’s statement comes after a largescale resentment over Collector’s decision making it mandatory for the people entering Collectorate buildings to have Arogya Setu App on their mobile.
NGO Hope Foundation was amongst the organizations which had conveyed their protest in writing to the CM over the Collector’s order.
Sawant said that people without Arogya Setu App in their mobile will not be stopped from entering the building.
The chief minister, however, added that those having smart phones will be asked to download the App when they arrive at the building.
The decision of State administration to restrict the entry had evoked strong reaction.
Hope Foundation’s Andrea Pereira said that she was assured by Revenue Minister Jeniffer Monserratte to look into the matter.
“I am thankful to the CM that he respected public sentiments. But at the same time, State Administration should issue corrigendum putting it in record that Arogya Setu App is not compulsory for entry into Collectorate buildings,” she added.
