Panjim: In a significant development in Valpoi politics, Former Congress Block President Arjun Appa Gurav from Valpoi today joined the Aam Aadmi Party along with his supporters. AAP Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar and AAP General Secretary Shrikrishna Parab formally welcomed them into the party by offering the AAP shawl.
Alongside Arjun Gurav, several key supporters also joined AAP. Those who joined include Ganesh Chorlekar, Pramod Gonkar, Amarnath Kopardekar, Tulshidas Gonkar, and Laxman Gavkar. Their joining adds momentum to AAP’s growing organisational strength in Sattari.
Speaking at the occasion, Arjun Gurav highlighted the long-standing issues in the region:
In the villages of Sattari, road, electricity, agriculture and other essential local issues remain unsolved till today. BJP Minister Vishwajit Rane has been indifferent towards solving these problems, and because of this, the region has not witnessed the development it deserves.
Gurav further said that AAP has now begun establishing its grassroots presence in Sattari. He said that looking at the current political scenario in Goa, it is difficult to understand who stands with whom. Instead of being dragged around by unreliable leaders, they have chosen Aam Aadmi Party — the only party that has consistently taken a firm stand against BJP.
He added that AAP’s emphasis on quality healthcare and education, along with its credibility in governance, inspired him and his team to join the party.
AAP leaders welcomed the new entrants and stated that this marks a major boost for the party’s expansion in Valpoi and across Sattari.
