Congress president Amit Patkar has strongly criticized the BJP-led Goa government for spending nearly ₹2 crore on the upcoming Shiv Mahotsav at Sacorda, claiming the event will last only four hours.
Patkar alleged that the government is spending around ₹83,000 per minute on the programme, calling it a clear example of how the BJP government is misusing public money.
He further questioned the government’s priorities, stating that the administration does not have ₹10 crore to repair and revive the Sanjeevani Sugar Factory in the same constituency, but is ready to spend crores on short-term events.
Patkar accused the BJP government of indulging in large-scale public fund expenditure for political publicity instead of focusing on real development and essential infrastructure needs.
