Panaji: Goa Women Forward have announced “All Goa House Decoration Competition” for the women folk, who can win attractive prizes by decorating their living rooms during the ongoing festive season.
GWF in a press conference held in Panaji today announced the competition, which is open for the women from all the religions, and across Goa. Goa Forward Party’s women wing has said that this is their way to salute those women, whose hardwork goes unrecognized, in the festive mood.
“We always notice that the efforts taken by women always go unrecognized. But she is the one, who struggles for days together to make the festival memorable and add up to the flavour. We are saluting those women through this event,” said GWF President Asma Sayed.
She said that the competition is held to encourage creativity amongst the women and also showcase them to the world.
GWF member Sampada Pednekar said that the competition is open to all, almost every Household of Goa. “During the competition, 20 entries from each district would be selected, for judging, before the final winner is announced,” she said.
The theme of the competition will be Christmas Decoration and it will be limited to only Living Room area.
“The judging criteria is that the decoration should be unique and display creativity of the person,” she said.
The judging of the decorations would be held on January 2-3, while the last day for entry is December 28. The timings for the arrival of judges would be informed on January 01.
GWF General Secretary Gauri Govekr said that the aim of the competition is to encourage women.
