AITUC holds protest at Azad Maidan, demands revision of minimum wages

Panaji : The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) Goa, held a protest at Azad Maidan today along with the workers of all sectors, demanding resumption of mining and revision of minimum wages for workers in Goa.
“Minimum wages have not been revised since the last five years. Due to this long pending demand three and a half lakh workers are suffering, The employer is not increasing the salary because the minimum wages are not released,” alleged trade union leader Christopher Fonseca.
He informed that 95% of the workers in India are surviving on ten thousand per month Jobs. “While the workers suffer during the pandemic, crony capitalists of India have increased their profits,” Fonseca said.
AITUC also demanded that mining be resumed at the earliest.
