Adv. Aires Rodrigues today met the North Goa Collector Mrs. R.Menaka and submitted a memorandum seeking a detailed Vigilance probe into the recent Awal Karkun recruitment done by the North Goa Collectorate.
Pointing out that the entire recruitment process for the post of Awal Karkuns which was conducted by the North Goa Collectorate has apparently been absolutely flawed all through, Adv. Rodrigues stated there had also been gross errors and manipulation in awarding marks at the Preliminary and final exam held for the post.
Adv. Rodrigues has along with his memorandum given the Collector after scrutinizing the answer sheets complete details of mistakes in correction and awarding of marks to 56 of the 173 candidates who had appeared for the preliminary exam and details the details of mistakes in correction and awarding of marks to two candidates at the final exam.
Drawing the Collector’s attention that one candidate at the preliminary exam was given a whopping 29 extra marks, Adv. Rodrigues in his memorandum has stated that the manner in which the whole process was been done is a matter of great concern and does not augur well for our State that brags of good Governance.
Adv. Rodrigues has also stated that it was surprising that the application forms of many candidates including that of Deputy Speaker’s son Raymond Fernandes were not rejected at the scrutiny stage despite them not meeting the essential qualifications required for the post.
Adv. Rodrigues has stated that a Vigilance probe into the entire Awal Karkun recruitment process would enable fix responsibility on those officials responsible for this faulty and defective recruitment while also ascertaining whether there was political interference in the process.
Deputy Speaker’s son Raymond Fernandes was amongst the 16 selected in January this year for the post of Awal Karkun but his name was rejected after it surfaced that the BA degree he had submitted was from a Lucknow based fake University.
