Panaji: The tweet war seems to be getting hotter in Goa. After Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte suspected mass discharge of COVID-19 patients without checking their status, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane adviced him not to create panic.
Reacting to Rane’s tweet, Khaunte raised the demand of white paper on whether COVID-19 patients were tested for the infection before their discharge.
Similar demand was raised by Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai.
Khaunte tweeted “Sacrificing and risking lives of Goans is not a joke, @visrane.”
“I demand that @goacm immediately come out with a White Paper on the present status of – How many patients discharged till date and whether they were tested before discharge in #Goa.”
“Goa’s testing rates need to be much ahead of rest of the country given that its such a small state.”
“As the @WHO chief @DrTedros recently said, it is a crisis of leadership that lets the virus spread. TEST MORE, TRACE ACTIVELY, BE TRANSPARENT.”
