After losing legal battle, Gangster Zenito Cardozo surrenders before Police

Panaji:  Noted Gangstar Zenito Cardozo who was wanted in connection with the gang fight case at St Cruz village near Panaji surrendered before police on Wednesday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Uttam Raut Desai said that the gangster surrendered before him in the afternoon after which he was handed over to Old Goa Police, which is investigating the case.

Police have arrested more than 20 persons in connection with the gang fight reported at St Cruz village on June 21. Members of one gang had attacked residents of one Imran Bepari during wee hours. One person was killed with the bullet wound.

District and Sessions Court, Panaji last week had rejected anticipatory bail petition of Cardozo, who has been booked in several similar cases in the past.

  1. After naming in the f. I. r. Police is always the opposite party against the accused and as well as the state so surrendering before the opposite party is meaningless and shows the Cowardness of the accused. The right direction is surrender before THE COURT. And in future let the court order for police remand never care about that. Let the process be slow. It’s simply handing over to police the accused with handsome amount of money for not treating the accused person with third degree treatment and also for the recoveries of criminal case properties and weapons. That is not the right direction for all the parties concerned.

  2. We have too many gangsters patronised by Political Godfathers..

    Eliminating one or two by police isn’t going to bring down the sky…

    A habitual offenders turning into gangsters are beyond reforms and pose a threat to the society…
