Panaji: Former Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Monday hinted at returning to the party fold after resigning in 2022.

Parsekar served as Chief Minister of Goa from 2014 to 2017 before losing his Mandrem Assembly seat in the 2017 Legislative Assembly election.

He had unsuccessfully contested as an Independent candidate in the 2022 election from Mandrem constituency after resigning from the party.

Talking to reporters outside the Mantralaya in Porvorim, Parsekar said he is ready for Ghar Wapasi this year itself.

“Why wait for 2027, when assembly elections are scheduled? We are in 2025. I can join back even this year,” he said.

To a specific question on his homecoming, Parsekar said, “Yes, I am ready for Ghar Wapasi.”

The 69-year-old leader added that everything has its right time, and he has decided to return to the party this year.
