The Lawyer Challengers team, champions of the 2026 Advocates Cricket League, is owned by Mr. Iftikhar Agha, who is undeniably a man of vision. The Advocates Cricket League (ACL) is his brainchild, through which advocates across the State of Goa have been afforded a prestigious and unique platform to showcase their cricketing prowess. More significantly, it has provided advocates in Goa with the rare opportunity to engage in the gentleman’s game at a remarkably high standard, competed under floodlights within a thoroughly professional atmosphere.

Mr. Agha, alongside his dedicated team, merits immense commendation for orchestrating such a grand, disciplined, and impeccably conducted event. Through their tireless endeavours, they have successfully highlighted to the general public the profound passion for cricket that resides within the legal fraternity.

The ACL has further unlocked opportunities for many exceptionally gifted advocates who, owing to the exigencies of their profession and lack of time, might otherwise never have found an outlet for their sporting skills. This platform has enabled them to strike an admirable balance between profession and passion, embodying the quintessence of sportsmanship.

What renders this initiative even more laudable is that Mr. Iftikhar Agha, notwithstanding his standing as an accomplished, erudite, and resourceful advocate with an extensive practice, continues to devote substantial time, energy, and personal resources to ensure the league’s success. Organising an event of this magnitude demands not only vision and leadership but also profound effort and significant financial commitment.

For this selfless contribution and exemplary leadership, the entire Advocates’ Fraternity owes a debt of gratitude to this remarkable individual. Mr. Iftikhar Agha is a true champion, mature, respected, and highly responsible. It is precisely for these reasons that neither he nor his team ever indulge in premature celebrations in newspapers or exhibit rustic arrogance. They eschew immature impulses and unruly behaviour, opting instead for conduct that reflects character, discipline, humility, and grace.

These very attributes are what have ultimately seen them crowned as champions this year. While reaching a final may occasionally be attributed to fortune, winning demands genuine class and indisputable ability. Experience suggests that sustained excellence is seldom built upon momentary success or transient exuberance. Enduring champions are distinguished by restraint and the quiet confidence that accompanies true mastery. This composure, maintained in both victory and adversity, is what defines greatness.

In the final reckoning, history immortalises only the champions, recording the titles claimed and nothing more, and Mr. Iftikhar Agha, affectionately known as Iftibhai, along with his team, is certainly one such champion. Congratulations to Lawyer Challengers
