ABVP Central Working Committee meeting concludes in Goa; organisational and campaign-oriented action plan gains new momentum
The two-day Central Working Committee meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) was successfully held on 17 and 18 January 2026 at Shri Damodar Sansthan, Zambaulim, Goa. Addressing the press conference organised after the conclusion of the meeting, ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki shared detailed information about the deliberations, decisions taken, and forthcoming action plans.
The meeting witnessed focused deliberations on organisational matters. Experiences and suggestions shared by workers from across the country regarding the membership drive, formation of units, planning of annual programmes, the organisation’s basic structure, and the role of workers were discussed in depth. The structure and outline of the Organisational Ideological Meet 2026, scheduled to be held in February, were also finalised. Based on these experiences, the future direction was set to make organisational work more effective and student-centric.
From a campaign-oriented perspective, detailed and time-bound action plans for all major campaigns were finalised during the meeting. A nationwide Hostel Survey Campaign will be conducted from 15 February to 15 March, through which the actual conditions of student hostels will be brought to light and concrete efforts will be made towards policy-level reforms. In the same sequence, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, Campus–Campus Vande Mataram programmes will be organised across educational campuses nationwide from 23 March to 15 August to awaken patriotism, national unity, and cultural consciousness among youth.
Along with this, the Screen Time to Activity Time campaign, initiated on National Youth Day, will be implemented on a wider scale throughout the year through various programmes, with the objective of freeing youth from digital addiction and engaging them in sports, social participation, creative pursuits, and physical activities. Additionally, keeping the Sangh Centenary Year, the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji, the 500th coronation year of Rani Abbakka, the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and the birth centenary of Yashwantrao Kelkar at the centre, a variety of educational, social, and cultural programmes will be organised across the country.
The meeting also included extensive discussions on further accelerating ABVP’s dimensions, works, and activities. The framework for upcoming plans, workshops, internships, conferences, and student participation-based activities of all dimensions was finalised, ensuring active student involvement and the development of leadership connected to social concerns.
Under the Students Experience in Regional Understanding (SERU) project, SERU Yatra 2026 will be organised from 26 February to 9 March to instil a sense of national integration among students from Ladakh. Through visits to various northern states, students from Ladakh will experience different lifestyles and folk cultures.
Along with this, national-level seminars on important contemporary issues such as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), as well as a national conference of student union office-bearers from across the country focusing on the role of student unions and reforms in student union elections, will be organised in the near future.
Addressing the press conference, ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki stated that through the Central Working Committee meeting, ABVP has defined a clear organisational, educational, and social direction for the times ahead. He said the meeting was not merely a review, but a significant step towards effectively implementing future action plans on the ground. A broad consensus has emerged on further strengthening the organisational structure, clearly defining the role of workers, and ensuring concrete interventions on issues related to student welfare.
He added that through nationwide campaigns, ABVP will work towards strengthening national consciousness along with the holistic development of students. The Hostel Survey Campaign will bring grassroots realities to the forefront and enable effective efforts towards policy reforms, while programmes like Campus–Campus Vande Mataram will reinforce patriotism and cultural self-awareness among youth. The Screen Time to Activity Time campaign will be a sustained effort to connect youth with positive, creative, and socially useful activities.
He further said that through programmes linked to the Sangh Centenary Year and various great personalities and historical milestones, a sense of inspiration, values, and social responsibility will be strengthened among students. At the same time, dialogue, seminars, and initiatives on contemporary national issues, especially matters such as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and efforts related to student union reforms will ensure that students actively participate in the nation-building process as aware citizens. The action plans finalised in this Central Working Committee meeting in Goa will further strengthen ABVP’s organisational expansion, protection of student interests, and responsibility towards the nation.
