PANAJI: Aam Admi Party (AAP) in Goa on Wednesday offered their support to Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, if he resigns from the post and the membership of the House, after being felt humiliated by Pramod Sawant-led government.
Tawadkar had recently addressed the press conference claiming that he was not getting the respect being the Speaker of the House. He had said that ministers were humiliating him with their statements against him on public platforms.
AAP Goa General Secretary Francis Coelho addressing a press conference on Wednesday said that he personally wants Tawadkar to join the party, after resigning from the BJP.
“Tawadkar has shown guts to speak against his own government. He has exposed the government. We appeal him to resign as the Speaker and also MLA and contest the by election,” he said.
Coelho said that they are ready to support Tawadkar in his by election.
