AAP Leader Prof. Ramarao Wagh Opposes Conversion of 40,000 sq. mts. of Natural Land in Pale-Siridao
St. Andre, October 12, 2025: AAP Goa Vice President Prof. Ramarao Wagh joined villagers of Pale-Siridao at a protest meeting opposing the proposed conversion of 40,000 sq. mts. of green and natural land in the area.
Speaking at the gathering, Prof. Wagh demanded that the government immediately withdraw the conversion plan and protect the area’s natural ecosystem, which serves as a vital green lung for the St. Andre constituency.
He said Goa’s greenery is our identity and lifeline. Destroying it for the sake of commercial interests is unacceptable. We stand firmly with the people of Pale-Siridao in defending their environment and heritage.
Prof. Wagh also urged citizens to hold politicians accountable for their inaction on environmental issues.
When public representatives come to you for votes, ask them what they have done to protect your land, water, and green spaces. Do not allow anyone to destroy Goa in the name of development, he added.
The Aam Aadmi Party reiterated its full support to the villagers’ movement to preserve the natural cover of Pale-Siridao and safeguard Goa’s environment from reckless land conversions.
