Panaji: AAP Goa President Amit Palekar on Monday challenged Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar to swear before Shree Katamgal Dada Shrine, Farmagudi, and Shree Navadurga Temple, Madkai, that he never accepted bribes.
Palekar was reacting to the show of strength by Dhavalikar’s workers on Sunday, during which they went to the Katamgal Dada Shrine and the temple of Goddess Navadurga, swearing against those who are naming their leader in the cash-for-jobs scam.
The AAP leader questioned why Sudin was absent during the entire exercise at both religious places. He said that he challenges Sudin to come to these places again and swear that he never accepted any bribes, adding that he should also come with his family members.
He said that the misuse of temples for political gains does not augur well with Sanatan Dharma. He said that the temples should be spared from being used for such purposes.
He said that only Puja, Sudin, and God know who accepted the money in the scam.
Palekar said that the sad reality is that the needy poor people lost their money in the entire bargain.
