AAP leaders Valmiki Naik, Sandesh Teleikar Dessai, and Minu Gawade slammed the BJP government after visiting Ponda ID Hospital on 16th February to assess the ground reality and interact with patients. The leaders stated that the situation on the ground is far worse than the government’s claims.
AAP revealed shocking findings from the visit, along with crucial data from LAQ. As many as 110 vacancies remain unfilled, including key posts such as Medical Superintendent, Surgeon, Radiologist, Paediatrician, Psychiatrist, Neurologist, and Lab Technicians. Referrals from Ponda to GMC have increased by 400% in the last three years. The hospital lacks a CT scan facility, an ICU ward, and a blood bank.
AAP demanded that the BJP government immediately upgrade Ponda ID Hospital into a super speciality hospital, warning that the party will launch a Jan Andolan if urgent action is not taken.
