Panaji: Today 60 nursing students from Goa who were stranded at Ghataprabha, Karnataka and 25 people who were stranded in Kerala(Ernakulam, kannur ,Thrissur, Kozhikode,Idukki, Kasargod, Kanghangad) & Karnataka( Dakshin Kanada, Udupi ,Karwar and Kumta), due to National wide lockdown in the wake of COVID-19, were brought to Goa by 5 different buses.
Upon arrival the 60 Nursing students were directly referred to Azilo Hospital at Mapusa for screening of Corona Virus infection, thereafter they were taken to Peddem (Holding Area). They will be sent for 14 days home quarantine after they test negative.
The 25 people brought back from Karnataka and Kerala were taken to Hospicio Hospital,Madgaon for screening of Corona Virus infection and thereafter taken to Colva Residency.They will be sent for 14 days home quarantine after they test negative.
The team led Officers of Interstate Movement Cell, initiated the efforts to bring the stranded safely . The entire situation was closely monitored by team members Shri Paresh Rivonkar, Shri Gauresh & Shri Mahesh Pandit.
The bus with 24 passengers stranded in Bangalore will leave for Goa today. Similarly one private hired bus reached West Bengal – Assam border, which will start return journey for Goa on May 16, 2020 morning with one passenger from Assam and four people from West Bengal
