PANAJI: BJP Goa President Damodar (Damu) Naik on Saturday said the party aims to secure 51 per cent of the votes in the 2027 Goa Legislative Assembly elections to retain power in the state.

Speaking at a function organised to celebrate his birthday, Naik said the BJP had achieved 51 per cent of the vote share in the recently held Lok Sabha elections. He added that it is possible for the party to replicate the same performance in 2027 if all members work together, in the presence of senior state leaders.

Naik said his goal is to form the government in 2027 and dedicate it as a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He added that considering the mood of the people in Goa, forming the government again in the upcoming assembly polls would not be a difficult task.

The elections to the Goa Legislative Assembly are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
