Panaji: All the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Goa voted for the Presidential poll on Monday.
Secretary of Legislature Namrata Ulman, who was Returning officer for Presidential Election 2022, said that the polling started at 10 am and all the 40 MLAs voted by 1.50 pm.
She said that the polling of the Presidential Election took place on Monday at Goa Assembly building.
Ulman said that the strong room was opened at 9.10 a.m. and the ballot box was brought out at 9.15 a.m. in her presence.
Election observer Aashish Kumar Goel and officers of the Chief Election Office and the authorized representatives of the contesting candidates.
The polling started at the scheduled hour of 10 oclock. By one oclock 35 of the 40 voters had casted their votes.
“B 1.50 pm, 100 per cent voting was achieved. The three women voters also cast their votes,” Ulman said.
She said that the polling was peaceful and strictly as per rules and no complaints and objections were raised by any of the authorized representatives.
Ulman said that polling box was sealed at 5 p.m. in the presence of authorized representatives of the contesting candidates and all aforesaid officers.
She said that polling box and other related election materials were subsequently sealed and made ready for transportation to Parliament House, New Delhi where it is scheduled to be arriving at 12.40 am on July 19.
