Panaji: Total 10 people filed their candidature for August 10 Goa panchayat election on the first day of nomination on Monday.
A senior official from State Election Commission said that total ten candidates filed their nomination on the first day. Two nominations each were received from St Cruz and Fatorpa-Quitol panchayat respectively.
The nominations were also filed from Assagao, Ona-Maulingem, Curchorem, Naroa, Loutolim, Cana-Benaulim and Shristhal panchayat.
The elections for 186 panchayat bodies would be held on August 10. The counting would be held on August 12.
