Panaji: Goa Forward Party chief and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has questioned what would be the status of the land given to Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited, in case the factory is shut.
Sardesai tweeted at the backdrop of Zuari Agro Chemical sells fertilizer plant for $20 millions.
The GFP chief tweeted “WHAT’S THE STATUS OF THE LAND? Is the land acquired cheaply and handed over for industrial purposes to #ZACL already converted into the #ODP? If so, beyond the massive setback to #Goa and #Goans, this is a conspiracy and a scam. @visrane, remember your stand in 2019: INVESTIGATE!”
Sardesai has quoted a news item which has carried the statement that if ZACL plant is shut down, the government should come out with an ordinance and take back the 1,000 acres of land given to company.
Sunday’s tweet comes as a sequel to the earlier one. Two days back, Sardesai had tweeted “#GOA BETRAYED? As @GovtofGoa watches, another Industry falls; Goans workers face loss of livelihood; huge tracts of ancestral land #Goans sacrificed for a pittance for #ZACL and for #Goa’s prosperity might be handed over for real estate. #Goemkars, we’re watching this closely.”
