Panaji: Goa Police have arrested a man for setting canoes on fire at Benaulim beach.
Colva police on Tuesday arrested Rofilio Fernandes from Benaulim itself for setting two canoes anchored at the beach on fire. The incident was reported on the intervening night of February 25-26, 2023.
Police said that the accused has confessed of committing the crime, while further investigation is on. “Only after his interrogation, we will be able to disclose the motive behind the offence,” he said.
One Cassiano Fernandes on February 26 had complained to Colva police stationt hat some unknown persons had set fire to his two canoes which were parked at Benaulim beach in South Goa.
