GPCC Parliamentary Affairs committee endorses Rahul Gandhi’s UK speech

Panaji: The Parliamentary Affairs Committee of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday supported their leader Rahul Gandhi’s statements in the UK.
The committee members unanimously passed a resolution supporting Gandhi over his statement in the UK.
All India Congress Committee Goa desk in-charge Manickam Tagore told reporters that the Parliamentary affairs committee of the GPCC “completely endorsed the views of Rahul Gandhi.”
He said that the resolution supporting Gandhi was moved by former Union External Affairs Minister Eduardo Faleiro, which was supported by all the other members of the committee.
Tagore said that Rahul Gandhi has not given any wrong statement. “His statement was twisted by the BJP and those media close to BJP,” he said.
He said that the committee expressed their solidarity with Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking about the current situation in the Parliament, Tagore said that for the first time in the history of Parliament, the ruling party is involved in the adjournment of the House.
“Only ministers were allowed to speak. All the opposition parties were stopped from speaking. No member from opposition was given an opportunity to speak,” he added.
Tagore said that Rahul Gandhi wanted to speak from Thursday but he was also not allowed.
“On Friday, Lok Sabha television was muted. First the time in the history no voice of Lok Sabha was aired out. It is black day for democratic proceedings and the attack on the parliamentary proceedings show that Modi government don’t believe in the democratic process,” he said.
The Congress leader said that the opposition parties are together in their fight against the government on Adani scam.
“The opposition parties are demanding Joint Parliamentary Committee on the issue,” he said.
