SDPO Mapusa, Shri Jivba Dalvi informed that 5th accused person by name Salim s/o Kasim Khan, age 41 yrs, r/o Khorlim Mapusa was arrested in knife attack case. SDPO Mapusa while he was travelling from Porvorim to his office at Mapusa after attending meeting, found the above accused on a motor bike travelling on Mapusa High way. SDPO Jivba Dalvi personally detained the said accused and further handed over him to Anjuna Police Station.
Earlier Anjuna Police had arrested accused persons No. 1) Royston Reginaldo Dias alias Roshan,r/o Demello waddo, Anjuna, 2) Nyron Reginaldo Dias, r/o Demello waddo, Anjuna, 3) Kashinath Vishvor Agarqadekae, r/o Sorranto vaddo Anjuna, and 4) Joseph Alex Lobo, age 57 yrs r/o Sovranto wado Anjuna in the said assault case. All these accused are still in police custody.
SDPO Mapusa further informed that since the involvement of fifth accused has come to light, sections 143, 147, 148 r/w 149 IPC have been adduced to the said crime and section 307 IPC has been already added by Anjuna Police Station earlier.
