We have been working for the mentally challenged children of all ages for the last seven years.
Aai Day Care Sanstha, came into being in 2010 with a view to cater for the needs of special children suffering from a variety of mental incapacities, in and around the city of Pen. As an outcome of our efforts we started Vocational Training Centre for them where they could get some training to acquire some skill to help themselves financially, and tell their guardians that they are not a burden on them.
At present we have 47 students and they receive the basic education outlined by National Open School. They also get physiological help from expert doctors. They get speech therapy, and occupational therapy as well. These children create a number of things, and as of now, they make earthen mice, earthen lamps for Diwali and other festivals, and, candles, Rakhees, paper bags, paper flowers, paper envelopes etc.
Post selling of all this products, financially we are are to provide education, health and food facilities to our kids.
