Old Goa police have arrested one person for raping a minor girl.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi on 09/06/2019 they had registered a FIR for raping a minor girl near V2 shopping mall at Old Goa bypass. The details of the offence were not disclosed earlier as the police Wanted to nab the accused. As per the complaint of the mother,the minor victim girl aged 15 yrs had disclosed about the alleged incident to her mother after being dropped home by the accused person. Police had immediately registered an offence under section 376 IPC , Sec 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act and Section 4 of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences).
The accused identified as Mr. Krishnanath S/o Devidas Shirodkar, age 25 yrs, R/o Gaulebhat, Chimbel- Goa was absconding since the commission of the offence and police were constantly on the hunt.
Today police successfully managed to arrest the accused person in the evening. The medical examination of the victim has also confirmed the rape. During the subsequent investigation police have also adduced section 377 IPC for having unnatural sec with the victim minor girl.
The accused is currently in police custody.
