Not Centre but State to find solution for mining crisis: CM tells Sardesai

Dona Paula: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has told the State cabinet that the solution for current crisis on mining industry should be found out within the ambit of State government, a senior minister said.

Parrikar, 63, who is suffering from pancreatic ailment, on Monday chaired the State Cabinet meeting at his private residence near here.

State Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai emerging from the meeting stated that the isuse about mining industry was raised by him with the CM.

“I told him that we need to find out solution for mining crisis as people are questioning us about our inability to solve it,” Sardesai said.

The minister said that the Chief Minister said that the solution for the mining crisis should be worked out by the State government.

“CM did not elaborate on exactly what is the solution that he is speaking about,” Sardesai said adding “CM said that since solution is not coming up from centre, State will have to provide it.”

Sardesai said that the solution would be provided before upcoming Lok Sabha election.
